Today I am going to share with you how to make a DIY photo clipboard. I got this idea a few weeks back while I was at Target and saw these cute photo clipboards…
(Target)
Now here is my version…
(O.K. I love this photo of Gman!)
This was an easy DIY project to tackle.
MATERIALS NEEDED
Scrap Wood
Bulldog Clip
Stain
Drill
Screw
(yep, love this photo of the boys too!)
I had everything on hand except for the bulldog clips. When I don’t need one, I can find 5 of them in any given desk drawer, when I want one they are nowhere to be found! I couldn’t even find the clips at any of the stores I searched either. I found the black clips and decided that I would prefer to use something a little different anyway!
I had to drill a hole in the back of the clip so I could screw it to the wood board. Super easy, once I realized someone had mixed my wood drill bits up with my metal drill bits. (Note to self… lock my toolbox and keep the keys.)
My scrap wood was large enough to make two photo clipboards. I wanted each piece of wood to be large enough to add a 5 x 7 photo but not too large that a 4 x 6 image would look lost.
Once I made my cuts and pre-drilled the holes for the bulldog clip, I lightly sanded each piece. I wiped them down with a clean cloth then brushed on the stain.
Once the stain was dry, I screwed on the bulldog clip and added my photos.
I hope you enjoyed this quick tutorial on how to make a DIY photo clipboard.
Happy Friday!
