This weekend my friend and I went to The DC Big Flea Market. It was my first time and I loved it. It is one of the Mid-Atlantic’s largest indoor Markets. I have never been to a Market this large, there were over 600 hundred booths. I bought a few things but today I am going to share some of my flea market favorites that I saw but did not purchase !
I loved the large grain sacks. I would use these to make outdoor pillows. Next time, I will call them mine!
I think the next time I go, I need a plan. I found so many things that I liked but I didn’t want to buy a lot until I went through the entire Market. Well, after the first four aisles, I knew that would not work because I would never make it through the entire area, then be able to come back and buy the items. The place was just too big for that. Next time, if I see something I want, I need to buy it right then and there instead of coming back to it. When I got home, I was thinking about all the things I passed up but now wished I had purchased!
I loved this piece. It reminded me of my little drying rack that I have on my kitchen counter. This piece was at least 3 feet tall. I really liked it but do not have a space for it.
I thought this piece was unique. It is a German musical and rotating Christmas Tree Stand. Again, it was not something I could use but I thought it was an interesting piece.
I had to share this Vintage Elf. Notice the red reindeer on the shelf below the Elf, I think we had that same set when I was growing up. I think that is why I like thrift shopping so much, it brings back a lot of memories.
I adore these white enamel pendant lights. I think they would look great over my kitchen Island. Not sure how my guy would feel about them though. As for me, it is a definite yes!
Flea Market Favorites
Don’t ask me why but I really like this green bucket! I think it would be perfect for my outdoor fireplace. I could use it for the ashes or any number of other things. I think it would look fabulous on the hearth of the fireplace. This is one of those things that I wish I would have gone back to pick up. I am also kicking myself for not picking up one of the bread boards from France or Germany. I loved both of them. Oh well, next time!
I had to share these images of the vintage Christmas ornaments and figurines. I have some of these pieces that I shared here. There were several booths with vintage Christmas decor which is a favorite of mine. There was a large mix of things at the Flea Market and I found so many things that I liked and some things that I have never seen before and lots of great ideas for future projects.
Now that I know the Flea Market is open 6 times a year, I am definitely going to make another trip! It was great fun and really entertaining!
Until Next Time,
