Welcome to Thrift Shop Thursday #11. This week it’s all about silver. I think Goodwill always has a great selection of silver if you can see past all the tarnish. Usually their prices are pretty reasonable. Having said that, they do have some pieces marked a bit high for me but for the most part it’s a great place to pick up some good silver. Sometimes you just have to look past the ugly.
The first piece I am sharing is a set of four salt and pepper shakers.
I picked the salt and pepper shakers up at a consignment shop. I think the detail on the shakers are beautiful. Are they practical? No, but they are pretty.
I picked this champagne bucket up at Goodwill. Yes, it still needs polished…alot. Usually, I can just dip my pieces into tarn-x and it comes out clean but I think the pieces I picked up recently are going to need a bit more work. Even with the tarnish, I still think this is such a pretty champagne bucket. It’s a good solid piece.
The last piece I am sharing is a silver candy dish that I picked up at Goodwill. I know I have said this before but I really like searching through Goodwill. It amazes me what you can find. I also like that they always have something new.
I liked the size of this little candy dish. It still needs a good polish but it looks much better than it did when I picked it up. I like to use little dishes like this at Christmas time scattered around the house. For now, I have it mixed in with my wine glasses for an added sparkle in my glass front cabinet.
This is what the silver looked like when I brought it home. They look better but I still have a bit more work to do.
Well, that all for this weeks Thrift Shop Thursday #11. I hope you enjoyed seeing my finds.
Next Thursday is the last day of school for my youngest, Gman, my tech guy. He is graduating 5th grade and will move on to the Middle School. It is a bittersweet moment! BUT we are ready for summer to get started! This has been the longest school year EVER! I am ready to head to the Eastern Shore and just relax!
Until next time,
