Family Room Revamp

Remember when I told my husband if we revamped the kitchen we would have to redo the family room too?  Well, we did and it is finished. I feel like we are living in a brand new home now that the Family Room Revamp is complete. Now I am itching to get upstairs and start revamping it as well. My husband is probably still not ready for that conversation!

Family Room Revamp. Using shades of gray to create a cozy but chic space.

We removed the carpeting and the curtains.  We also repainted and replaced the furniture.   We have the same hardwood flooring carried throughout the main level which I showed you here.

I took photos of the before and of course I cannot find them anywhere.  So the photos I am going to share with you are from our Christmas tour of 2013 which you can see here.

(before)

We have kept the family room the same for almost 14 years. This room served us well and I really liked it but it was long overdue for a revamp. I am so happy we were able to do this.  I keep telling my husband how much I am loving all of the changes.

To cut costs, I used the same coffee table, sofa table and two of the end tables.

I added the red pillow for a pop of color. The furniture is grey and charcoal and we painted the walls Proper Grey by Sherwin Williams SW6003.  All the trim is bright white. It looks so crisp and clean.

I am enjoying the windows without any window coverings.   Although, I am not sure how long I will keep it that way, but for now it works.

The family room is right off of the kitchen and I really Ilike how the new color scheme flows together.  I am still putting the finishing touches on the dining room and formal living room. Eventually, I would like to revamp the formal living room into a library/office. I think we would get more use out of it. I will post more on that later.

Kathy your family room looks so fresh and updated! I love the color scheme change and how open and flooded with natural light your space is. Such a welcoming and comfortable looking space. Thanks so much for linking it up to Best of the Nest!
