Summer is winding down so we squeezed in one more trip to the Island. I just like being there because it is so peaceful and away from the grind of day to day living. I am so not ready for the school year to begin because my oldest will head back to college, my middle son will start his senior year in high school and my youngest (also know as my tech guy and my photograper) will be in his last year of elementary school. When I am at the Island I do not have to think about any of that…
this is another reason that I love the Island…
I will never get tired of that view. See nothing stressful here just relaxation and good times!
Before we went to the Island my husband went junkin with me. We picked up a few things but one of my favorites is this little stool…
I am beginning to think that I have a little addiction to stools. This is the sixth one I picked up but the are so inexpensive and they are always being used when we are at the house. This stool is so light weight and I even love that the seat is a little crooked. I painted it using Americana Decor Chalky Finish in a light gray.
After the fist coat of paint was dry I used a paint pen to paint our initial on the seat. Once it was dry I painted over the initial then lightly sanded it so the letter is barely visible.
It’s very faint but the letter is there. When the paint was completely dry I painted on the American Decor Wax to protect the paint finish on the stool.
Another thing we found were these old picture frames…
I think I will just lightly sand them and put a coat of polyurethane on them so the paint does not chip away any further. Once I decide and finish them I will post an update.
