Goodwill Gate leg Table

March 18, 2014 By stylishrevamp 4 Comments

I went to Goodwill a few weeks ago and found this fabulous Gateleg Table.  It needed a bit of work and I had to wait to do the painting in between the snow storms but it is almost finished.  I am so ready for this snow to be gone for good! Once the weather warms up, I will probably do another light sanding on the top and one more coat of stain and possibly a coat of dark wax on the legs.

I think it looks pretty good considering this is how it started out…

I sanded the top down with my electric sander and used a sanding block on the legs.

It didn’t take long at all to stand the top down. The legs were a bit more tedious. Once I wiped everything down I used some left over spray paint and sprayed the legs white. (Gman says I use way too much white paint and my husband says I use too much black) I decided on white just in case I decide to keep this piece and use it in the sunroom.

I like when you rub the stain on it immediately looks so much better!

I think this was such a great find…

and I just might have to keep it for myself!
