Welcome to Thrift Shop Thursday #13. This week I am sharing some of my finds that I have used in our Island Home. I enjoyed decorating that entire house with all of my budget friendly treasures. I plan to share more through out the summer. Here are a few to get us started, so let’s begin!
I have shared my sea glass before but I wanted to show you some more of the vessels that I use for the sea glass.
I found this large jar at a consignment store for $5. The sea glass was free minus the labor of paddling over to the shore line to scout it out in the sand.
When I am out thrifting, I always check out the glass containers. Goodwill will usually have a large selection of glass jars. The larger of the two above was $2 and the smaller one was $1. I also like to use the glass jars in my bathroom for cotton balls, Q-Tips, make-up sponges, and soaps. There are so many uses for these glass containers. I also like to use them in the kitchen for sugar and flour.
The next piece I am sharing comes from the same shop where I bought my birdhouse.
This little table was made using reclaimed barn wood. The top is stained and the body of the table is painted white and finished with a dark wax. Notice the glass jars with the sea glass on the tray on the bottom shelf…another GoodWill find!
Last up this week are my bar stools.
I found these at an antique store. They are solid little stools and I like that I can tuck them under the counter and out of the way. You can find similar stools at Target. However, the seats on the stools I found at the antique shop are thicker and they have a bit of a curve to them instead of a flat seat. All I did to them was spray them white and they have held up very well to all the wear and tear they receive. This is a favorite spot for an Island breakfast of waffles with blueberry syrup.
Well, that is it for this week’s treasures on Thrift Shop Thursday #13.
I am hoping to hit some Thrift Shops in Pennsylvania this week. If I get lucky I will share them with you soon. I hope you all are enjoying your summer and finding many treasures!
Until Next Time,
