Tonight I am sharing our Master Bedroom on the Island Home. This part of the home, including the attic lounge area, is not original to the house. I believe these rooms were added about 14 years ago. When the previous owners added the extra space, it created two Master Bedroom areas.
This bedroom makeover was done on a shoestring budget. We made the headboard. That saved us a lot of money. The rest of the room was pulled together using thrift ship finds and bargain hunting at places like TJ Maxx. (I will do a source list at the end of the post.)
We painted the walls a light tan to brighten the space up a bit. The pervious owners had a green textured wall paper from floor to ceiling. I will try to find a picture to give you a better visual of the before and after. The wallpaper just made the room feel heavy and dark. I wanted a more light and airy space. Eventually, I would like to have hardwood or a tile that looks like hardwood. I think being on the water, we would have to use either a tile or engineered hardwood flooring.
Home Tour on the Island- Master Bedroom
This slipcovered chair we bought at a yard sale. It was in really great shape. I just tossed the covers in the wash and they came out great.
This is my reading area. I need to find someone to reupholster this old wingback chair. I wish that was something I could do, but I know my limits.
The enclosed porch is right off the Master Bedroom. I am not finished with it yet, but thought I would show you the table that I had previously shown you here. I think once I am done with this little porch it will be a great space. The view is fabulous!
