Today I finished a few small projects and the first one I am going to share with you is a serving tray that I made. I will post the other projects later in the week. They were super easy and quick.
I have been on the hunt for a cheap serving tray that I could rework to use on our screened in porch. I have searched Goodwill and all my other favorite spots and haven’t found anything that would work.
So today I finally got to work and made one myself.
I used some wood slats from my sons old bed and the hardware came from the credenza that I showed you here.
I cut the slats with these dimensions:
2 pieces at 10 1/2 inches
2 pieces at 17 1/2 inches
3 pieces at 16 inches
I used my nail gun to attach the outer frame using the 17 1/2 inch pieces and the 10 1/2 inch pieces. I inserted the 16 inch pieces inside the frame and nail it all together. I used a little stain on the cut edges to blend it in with the rest of the wood. I gave it a light sanding then I waxed it with Americana Decor Creme Wax that I had on hand. I bought it at Home Depot about a month ago. I really like this product. It is so easy to work with and leaves such a nice finish.
