Family Room Inspiration

March 12, 2015 By stylishrevamp Leave a Comment

SRLogo

We recently completed our Family Room Revamp which you can see here.  I am obsessed with the grey, beige and cream color palette.  With a more neutral color scheme, you are not locked into just one look.  You can switch out the pillows and accessories for a fresh new look for a fraction of the cost.

For inspiration we created a board on Hometalk with some fabulous Family Rooms that you can check out here.

You can get more details about these gorgeous rooms by clicking on the board.  I hope you enjoy!

Vintage Christmas

December 22, 2013 By stylishrevamp 2 Comments

I love finding Vintage Christmas decorations.  Most of the things I find remind me of Christmas back home with my parents and my brothers and some of the things I buy because they just seem so unique to me.

My mom had Christmas carolers  that she used every year at Christmas.  That is probably why I fell in love with these…

Vintage Christmas Carollers

She also had little reindeers similar to these

I love all the memories these items bring back to me.

Vintage Christmas Ornaments

One of my Shiny Brite ornaments…there is just something about vintage ornaments…just love them.

Vintage Santa Claus

These two Santas are my all time favorite.  I think they are so adorable.  I don’t know anything about them but they are so special to me.

Vintage Christmas Village Skaters and sled

Another one of my favorites…my metal Santa, ice skaters, police officer, skiers and sled riders.

Vintage Christmas Santa Lights Milk Glass            Vintage Milk Glass Christmas Lights             VIntage Milk Glass Christmas Ornaments

These are vintage Christmas Light Bulbs.  When we travel I always try to find at least one to add to my collection.  I really would like to add them to a light strand but I haven’t found one that I feel comfortable using.  My oldest brother is a firefighter so I am a bit cautious when it comes to things like that.  So instead of lighting them, I place them in little bowls and Christmas dishes.

VIntage Christmas Plate

Just another Vintage plate hanging in the alcove above Santa.

Vintage Christmas Candle Holders, Plant Holders and Salt and Pepper Shakers                    Vintage Santa and Mrs. Clause Figurines

Here are some Vintage collectibles.  Some of these are salt and pepper shakers, candle holders, and plant holders/vases.  Like I said some of these things are similar to the things my mom decorated with at Christmas time but the other things just remind me of that time in my life… such great memories of Christmas Past!

New /Old Finds

August 3, 2013 By stylishrevamp Leave a Comment

Last weekend while we were at the Island Home, I found some lovely furniture pieces.  Three new pieces …new to me that is.  One of the pieces was sitting beside the road.  After driving by it several times and asking everyone in the car over and over if they thought it was for sale, my Aunt finally said just stop and ask someone.   Being the brave soul that I am, I sent my son to the door to ask the owners if it was for sale.  The house was empty.  So we asked the neighbor across the street.  She said it had been sitting there for a few days and that we should just take it.  So we did, with the understanding that if the owner wanted it back, we would return it. I know it sounds crazy but that is just the way it is on the Island. Then the neighbor invited me to her house to look at some furniture she wanted to get rid of and I walked away with two more pieces. Three new pieces for free! You can’t beat that…Yes, they need some work but I love them. I have lots of ideas swimming in my head but for now take a look….

Attic/Loft Area

This is one of my favorite spots in the home.  I need to search for some before photos because this room has been totally revamped.  I am going to break it down for you: The walls are painted Blissful Blue by Sherwin Williams sw6527. The ceiling are painted Eider White by Sherwin Williams sw7014.  The chaise lounge was bought from IKEA …love, love, love it! The headboard we had. It was a gift from our Aunt.  The bedding I bought at Bed, Bath and Beyond.  The grey pouffs and nightstand/stool I bought from Target. The chest at the foot of the bed was from my husband’s college days… you know how I love vintage!
