It’s that time again…Thrift Shop Thursday. Today is #4 in the thrifting series. I am just now beginning to realize how much of my furnishing have come from thrift shops finds. This week everything I am sharing is from our Island home.
Up first is my crab tray and old glass jar that holds some of my sea glass and pottery shards that have washed ashore. I scored both of these pieces at a local consignment shop.
I love loading the crab tray up with a bushel of steamed crabs and having our meal outside on the porch at sunset. Can you tell I am so ready for the end of the school year? Even though that means another son graduating and my youngest leaving Elementary School. (Best not to think about it too much before I end up a sobbing mess!)
We have been collecting sea glass and old pottery pieces from the Island since we bought the house. I remember how excited I was when I found my very first piece of sea glass. (I think I had just finished reading the novel by Anita Shreve titled Sea Glass.)
Then we started find pieces of broken pottery rubbed smooth by the waves and sand. We have found some really beautiful pieces. I wanted to display all of our finds, that’s when I started searching for glass jars and pots to put them in. I love the large jar pictured above, if you look closely you can see another jar behind it. I have several scattered around the house.

Next, I have an old vintage stool that I found in a local antique store. It was in the bargain basement section.
I orginally shared it here. It just needed a coat of paint and a little TLC. This is what it used to look like.

My last find for today is this Wicker Club Chair. We actually bought a pair of these chairs.
I have checked prices on these chairs elsewhere and I have to say this was the best steal. My guy was with me on this junkin’ trip and he was surprised at what we walked away with that day. We found a thrift shop near the Island that has the best prices. I like to think it is my secret spot.
That’s it for this week. Hope you all are finding lots of great junk.
Until next time…
